MFD Communication Infrastructure (MFDCI) is an independent, specialist consultancy, providing a comprehensive, tailored service for communication-related infrastructure.

Our core workload includes, but is not limited to, climbing surveys, structural investigations, structural analysis and the development of fully engineered design solutions.

With clients from both governmental and private sectors, within the UK as well as overseas, we have established an interesting and diverse portfolio of projects within a wide variety of environments and settings.

About the Role

As a Graduate Engineer, your role will involve a combination of structural analysis, tower and rooftop inspections, as well as involvement in the development of strengthening designs on existing towers. There is a combination of desktop work and site work, which will be supported by a team of experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertaking structural analysis on masts and lattice towers
  • Writing detailed technical reports
  • Performing structural condition inspections and measurement surveys
  • Advising clients on forward maintenance programmes
  • Developing and managing strengthening schemes
  • Using analytical software packages such as Autodesk Robot and MSTower
  • Preparing risk assessments and method statements
  • Liaising with external clients and contractors
  • Supporting the wider team as required

Requirements

Essential

  • Applicants should ideally have a 2:1 or above in a Civil/Structural Engineering degree
  • A minimum of a ‘B’ grade in Maths A-Level (or equivalent)
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work at height
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong commitment to continuous professional development

Please note: Due to the nature of our client portfolio, all employees must be able to obtain Security Clearance from United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV). We will assist and sponsor the successful candidate in this application.
