At OCU Group, we don’t just deliver infrastructure - we help power modern life.
As one of the UK’s fastest-growing utility and infrastructure businesses, we deliver complex, nationally critical projects across power, energy transition, water, telecoms, and digital infrastructure. Over the last five years, OCU has grown five-fold to a £1.1bn organisation, expanding both organically and through strategic acquisitions across the UK, Australia, New Zealand and India.
Our growth is driven by ambitious people, operational excellence, and a commitment to doing things properly. We work on projects that genuinely matter by supporting the UK’s energy transition, strengthening essential infrastructure, and helping build more sustainable communities for the future.
Whether you’re an experienced professional looking to take ownership of major projects and influence delivery at scale, or someone starting your career through an apprenticeship, graduate programme, or placement route, OCU offers real opportunity to grow, develop, and make an impact.
We are building a business where high performance, collaboration, innovation, and accountability sit at the centre of our culture. Our people are trusted to lead, encouraged to challenge thinking, and supported to continuously develop their skills and careers.
At OCU, you won’t just join a growing business, you’ll help shape it.
You'll play a key role in delivering infrastructure projects safely, efficiently and to the highest standards on site. Based in Greenwich, you'll work as part of our operational teams, supporting the management and coordination of construction activities across a range of utility and infrastructure projects. Working alongside Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, subcontractors and clients, you'll help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and in line with safety, quality and environmental requirements.
You'll gain exposure to all aspects of site management, from planning and mobilisation through to construction, commissioning and project handover. As part of the role, you'll assist with coordinating site activities, managing resources, monitoring programme performance and ensuring works are completed in accordance with project specifications and operational requirements.
You'll support the implementation of health, safety, environmental and quality procedures on site, helping to promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations. You'll also help manage subcontractors, monitor productivity, maintain project records and support stakeholder communication to ensure smooth project delivery.
The role will involve regular time spent on live construction and infrastructure sites, providing valuable hands-on experience in operational management and project delivery. As your skills and confidence grow, you'll take on increasing responsibility for managing site operations, leading teams and coordinating project activities, developing into a future Site Manager within OCU.
Graduates who are passionate about construction, infrastructure and project delivery and want to build a career leading teams and managing site operations. You'll be proactive, organised and solutions-focused, with strong communication skills and an interest in how projects are delivered safely, efficiently and successfully.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, coordinating multiple activities and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders. You'll be keen to develop your leadership, planning and decision-making skills while gaining practical experience managing projects from the ground up.
You'll enjoy balancing technical, operational and people-management responsibilities, helping to deliver essential infrastructure that supports communities and contributes to the UK's critical utility and energy networks.
You'll need (or be on track to achieve) a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline with a minimum 2:2 classification.
Due to the nature of the role and travel between operational and project sites, a full UK driving licence is essential before starting the role.
Relevant experience through placements, internships, site-based projects or part-time employment within construction, engineering or infrastructure environments would be advantageous.
Our 2 year Graduate Programme combines structured training with hands-on experience, giving you real responsibility from day one. You'll learn directly alongside industry experts in a collaborative, supportive environment. We invest in your continuous professional development, giving you the tools, confidence and clear progression path to build a long term career within OCU.
