Orso works with leading publishers, edtech companies and educational institutions to create the highest quality learning resources in STEM subjects.

Our internal content team works hands-on with a range of print and digital media (books, videos, online learning platforms and more), handling all tasks in the content production process from initial development through to final sign-off. We work closely with our clients to understand exactly what they need, and then we devise bespoke workflows to get the best results in the most efficient way possible.

So that we can offer the best service on every project, we stick to what we know: we're a Maths- and Science-specialist supplier, which means our in-house team is made up entirely of STEM subject specialists. We are non-hierarchical in the way we organise our teams, and we always aim to provide as many learning opportunities as possible to all staff at all levels, such that everyone can feel empowered and supported to achieve the best of their potential in the shortest time possible.

Established in 2022, Orso has gone from strength to strength in a relatively short period of time, building strong working relationships with industry-leading educational content providers such as BBC Bitesize, Oxford University Press, and White Rose Education.

We are now looking to bolster our team ahead of a period of curriculum reform and rollout in the UK, so that we are ready to continue the momentum and enjoy more success into 2026 and beyond.

The role

We are more interested in the right people than the right experience, and right now we are looking for entry-level staff to bolster our in-house team and prepare us for a busy period of curriculum rollouts in the UK. For example, recent (or soon-to-be) graduates or simply those looking for a change of direction.

The role would involve a variety of content-related tasks, including but not limited to the following (and for all of which you'd receive training where required):

• Writing, editing and proofreading educational content.
• Creating technical artworks and illustrations to be used in print and digital products.
• Building, producing and editing animated educational videos.
• Writing voiceover scripts and producing audio files.
• Designing and building online lessons and learning materials.
• Setting up and managing your own projects, including schedules, trackers, and other project documentation.
• Researching, developing, consulting on, and quoting for future projects.
• Working on a personal self-development project of your choosing.
• Collaborating with team members both in- and out-of-house on all of the above.

The candidate

We’re on the lookout for talented and driven people with an academic background in Maths, Physics, or a closely related discipline, to join us as STEM-specialist editors and content creators.

Because of the way we work, our only requirement is that candidates have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Maths, Physics, or a related field (e.g. Computer Science or Engineering), and that this is backed up by excellent school results – including at least two strong A Levels (or equivalent) in STEM subjects. Our in-house team works hands-on with written and visual content, so it's vital that you be confident reading, assessing and (re)writing accurate technical content in STEM subjects.

More specifically, the role would particularly suit somebody who:

• Has excellent written communication skills, with a strong grasp of grammar and the ability to present ideas and concepts in a clear, concise, and easy-to-understand manner.
• Has a passion for education and helping students get the most out of their learning – perhaps backed by experience teaching, tutoring, or similar.
• Is interested in, and has experience in, creating visual, artistic or audio-based content – either professionally or through personal projects (such as a podcast, a YouTube channel, or a self-taught artistic side-hustle).
• Is a natural problem-solver, always looking for ways to maximise efficiency, improve how something is done, and find solutions before the problem even arises.
• Is motivated, organised, adaptable, willing to learn, and keen to get involved with a variety of tasks, especially as part of a small team with a common goal.

We understand that people from minority or underrepresented backgrounds are less likely to apply for roles in which they don’t necessarily meet all the criteria. Degree-level knowledge of a STEM subject is vital due to the nature of the work we do, but please don’t be discouraged from applying if you don’t necessarily meet all the other requirements beyond this one – we welcome all applicants, and we will endeavour to treat all applications fairly.
