Here at DNV, what we do matters. Whether it’s helping the Energy Industry transition to a more decarbonised and sustainable future or helping protect life, property and the environment, every day, what you do will make a difference. This is our shared purpose and one our people are proud to be part of.

Our highly respected Renewable department in the UK and Ireland, provides consulting engineers, data insights, deep technology expertise, modelling and software solutions. We do this to enable the successful rollout of renewable power and to deliver the energy transition. We are engaged in all phases, from initial concept evaluation through construction and commissioning into operations, life extension and decommissioning.

Within the Renewables department, our Renewable Projects section is a growing team of almost 50 experts in DNV’s UK & Ireland region. We are actively solving the biggest challenge of our time, the energy transition. We provide specialist consulting and assurance to the renewable industry for on and offshore wind, solar and storage.

Through 2024 and into 2025 we are looking to strengthen our teams and expand our capability further into the electrical networks and systems which enable renewable electricity generation.

Our work is primarily focused on helping our clients identify and mitigate the risks associated with their sites to ensure they perform as well as they can. As consultants, driven by the fast-paced energy market, we are asked to solve a wide range of customers’ challenges from equipment inspections to failure investigations and training.

Our Opportunity:

As a Graduate Engineer in renewables, you’ll join a growing team of big thinkers who love investigating and finding innovative solutions to our industry’s most challenging problems. You’ll be given real responsibility from day one, collaborating with forward-thinking customers and technical experts across our business, helping deliver career and industry-defining projects. You will be given the time to build your network, the resources to support your development, and the freedom to satisfy your curiosity and desire to learn.

Working from one of our offices in London, Bristol, Glasgow, you will:

  • Gain a deep insight into onshore/offshore power grids (transmission and distribution) opportunities /challenges as well as renewable energy systems
  • Take a big picture view on the energy transition and what this means for our customers and their supply chains and what this means for our society and the environment
  • Actively engage with clients to understand their challenges deploying renewable energy generation and storage safely, sustainably and effectively
  • Learn how projects are developed and financed from an initial concept through to operation
  • Have the opportunity to work with other discipline teams across DNV to see how we are working together to solve some of the energy industry’s biggest problems

You’ll be stretched but always supported, so don’t worry if renewable energy or some of the terminology is unfamiliar to you, we’ll teach you all you need to know. Upon joining, you’ll receive a buddy to help you settle in, a mentor to enhance your technical knowledge, as well as ongoing on-the-job coaching and support from your colleagues.

Our structured graduate programme provides a fantastic start to your career with us, enhancing both your technical and professional skills and supporting your journey towards chartership and becoming an expert in your field.

You will have the opportunity to travel to customer sites across the UK and occasionally overseas, so a flexibility and willingness to undertake this, is essential.

What will you bring?

As a Graduate, other than your relevant degree, we don’t expect any prior experience when you join us; However, we want you to bring your passion for the green energy transition.
