Sustainability

To avert the climate crisis, action is needed from all parts of society including governments, companies and individuals. At DNV, we take our responsibility to minimise our environmental impact very seriously and environmental protection is embodied in our purpose to protect life, property and the environment.

Our sustainability and climate strategy contains ambitious goals to reduce the carbon footprint of our business, with the ultimate aim of making our operations more sustainable.

Our goals for 2025

How we ensure that we operate sustainably

We have identified the economic, social and environmental risks, opportunities and impacts that are most important to our customers, employees and society.

DNV reports in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative Standards at the Core Level, and a third party has conducted a limited assurance of our report. Sustainability is embedded within the DNV management system and we seek continual improvement through certification to external standards, such as ISO 14001 for environment and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety.

Working to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals

DNV works closely with customers, industry associations and international organisations such as the UN Global Compact and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development in pursuit of change to a more sustainable world.
