We usually advertise our opportunities from November onwards each year. We advertise very specific roles for different parts of our Energy business, so new opportunities are added throughout the year. You can “Follow us” on our Gradcracker Hub and be automatically notified when new opportunities go live.
Contact us via earlycareers@dnv.com. Ensuring our processes are as inclusive as possible is vitally important to us too, but we don’t pretend our standard approach is automatically perfect for everyone. It is why we urge you to reach out to us at any stage during our overall process, if you either need some adjustments or simply wish to discuss any questions or concerns you might have with the process. We will always do our level best to accommodate and support you through your application journey.
Simply find an opportunity, read through the advert requirements and if it still appeals to you, click on the Apply online now link. You will answer a few basic questions to ensure you meet the initial criteria for the role and that’s all there is to it! We will be in touch again as soon as the deadline has passed.
No. Here at DNV we assess for potential when recruiting our Graduate, Placement and Apprenticeship roles. If a certain skill, qualification or experience is essential we will ask you about it when you apply. Therefore, attaching a CV and Cover letter is not mandatory and they are not used during the selection phase of our recruitment process. We believe this reduces bias in our decision making and creates a fairer process for you.
Yes. We encourage you to apply for all roles that match your skills and passion. Each role has its own individual process to ensure fairness for all applicants.
Sadly not. We do need to be fair to all candidates, so each role has a clearly stated closing date that we adhere to. We open new roles throughout the year, so make sure you are following us on our DNV Gradcracker Hub to be notified when new roles become available.
We believe that scientifically assessing your natural behaviours and skills, enables us to objectively identify whether you are more likely to be a good match for the requirements of the role and equally importantly, enjoy it! Our assessment partners Arctic Shores create some really engaging game-based assessments for you to complete online.
We explain a lot more about how Arctic Shores works when we invite you to complete the assessments, but as industry leaders in this field, their assessments are extremely inclusive and adjustments can easily be made where required to ensure all applicants can demonstrate their full potential.
Assessment Centres are the final stage of our recruitment process for our Graduate and Apprenticeship roles. We endeavour to make these as engaging and 2-way as possible, to enable you to ask questions and meet future colleagues, to help you to get a far deeper understanding of whether we are right for you too.
Each Assessment Centre has subtle differences but usually include an Interview with your future Manager, a non-technical Group Activity and a Q&A session with some of our current Graduates/Apprentices to learn more about their experience since joining DNV.
We appreciate that recruitment processes can feel a little daunting or a totally new experience, so we will guide you through every step and make sure you are fully supported.
We appreciate that time is precious, so currently the majority of our Assessment Centre’s are held virtually, making them far more convenient to attend. For certain roles, such as those at our Spadeadam Test site in Cumbria, we feel there is benefit to holding those in-person. The nature of that site and the working environment is unique, and it’s important people are able to visit as part of their decision making.
Yes. If we need you to travel to an in-person Assessment Centre or interview, we will reimburse you. Please discuss with the recruitment team at the time and they can advise what is covered and how to claim.
As each process is unique, there are no fixed timeframes. As a guide, once the advert deadline has passed, we endeavour to conclude the remainder of our process within 4-5 weeks.
Yes. We appreciate that finding out the outcome and learning from the experience is really important, so we revert to all those who reach the final stage of our process and provide verbal feedback.
Absolutely. Each of our processes looks for slightly different things, so just because you may be unsuccessful with one role, it doesn’t mean you might not be successful for another.
Yes, but our Early Careers roles are called that because we feel they tend to be most suited to people either at the start of their careers or potentially changing career direction. Our associated standard starting salaries and some elements of the development programmes, also tend to be less attractive or beneficial to those already further advanced in their career.
Also, we are legally required to verify your Right to Work in the UK, so please don’t be offended if asked to provide information during our process, to validate your eligibility, in accordance with our requirements or those set out by the UK Home office, UK Immigration law, or national Government rules around Apprenticeships.
Yes. We treat all applications equally, and yours will be considered regardless of age, neurodiversity or disability status, sex or gender identity, sexual orientation, race, marital status, pregnancy or maternity status, or religion or beliefs.
Of course. You can email us at earlycareers@dnv.com.
