If you are passionate about doing practical scientific and engineering work, whist gaining industry recognised technical or academic qualifications, then an apprenticeship here at DNV can offer you that perfect opportunity.
We recruit a new cohort of Apprentices for each year (from Intermediate level 2 and 3, up to Level 6 Degree Apprenticeships), predominantly at our world-renowned Spadeadam Research and Testing site in north Cumbria, where we conduct extraordinary, industry-defining research and full-scale hazard and explosion testing, on behalf of the Energy and Security industries.
Our specific Degree Apprenticeship opportunities vary each year but often align to Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degrees, or more specialist areas of the work we do, such as Explosives and Munitions, enabling you to make a meaningful contribution to the Energy Transition.
Regardless of your specific apprenticeship, it’s only the start of your journey. As you progress, we will help you to choose the best career pathway for you. So, whether you want to focus on developing new practical industry skills, or are motivated more by studying a specialist Master's, or even academic research as part of a PhD, we can help you achieve your ambitions.
You will be challenged but always supported. To thrive and maximise your potential, you will be proactive, curious and organised, demonstrating a deep desire to learn, collaborate with colleagues, and take on responsibility. Our Apprentice Manager, will be on hand to assist, ensuring you are working on the most appropriate projects and keeping on top of your University commitments too.
We occasionally have apprenticeship opportunities at other locations too, such as Bishop Auckland, where we own one of the largest gas flow test facilities in the world, so if you are interested in an Apprenticeship but can’t see one that’s suitable, please reach out to us.
