Throughout the graduate scheme, I have been provided with many opportunities to develop both hard and soft skills, this then sets me up for rolling off into a full time role. I can now bring expertise in management activities such as work package management, trials management etc.
Within my current role there are multiple aspects of physical engineering and analytical responsibilities included. I carry out many activities within the Integration, Validation, Verification and Qualification (IVVQ) process. This goes from customer training, product testing and evaluation, product strip down and analysis, without this our products wouldn’t go to market or meet the criteria set by standards.
I joined Thales after completing my Master’s degree in mechanical engineering at Ulster University. I first found out about Thales through Gradcracker.
I have now been with Thales for 4 years. As part of the graduate programme, I was on a rotational scheme allowing me to work in different business lines, at different sites, carrying out a variety of different engineering roles. I was lucky enough to work in Naval Defence Systems, Naval Sonar Systems, Aerial Surveillance and Trials and Environment Testing. I have now completed the graduate programme and have moved into a permanent role as a full time Senior Trials and Environment Test Engineer.
The variety of product, projects and work. I genuinely love my job and look forward to it each day which is a real privilege.
