About the role

Subsea7 are looking for a Fracture Mechanics Engineer to join our Pipeline Group (PG) team on a full time, permanent basis located at our Sutton, London office. PG is tasked with supplying projects with rigid pipeline installation and fabrication that meets specified requirements.

As a Fracture Mechanics Engineer you will sit within the Engineering Critical Assessment (ECA) team who carry out assessments on our subsea pipelines, specifically around fracture mechanics and fatigue-based welding, ensuring accordance with industry codes and standards, design guides, client specifications and scopes of work.

We welcome applications from across the energy industry including, but not limited to, nuclear, utilities, aeronautics, academia (e.g., PhD graduates, lecturers), etc

What will your responsibilities involve?

  • Provide ECA engineering support to Concept study, Tendering and FEED study execution
  • Conduct advanced 3D finite element analyses.
  • Write technical project documents.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines (material and welding, installation, and pipeline design engineering) client and 3rd party.
  • Support internal R&D study and engineering improvement projects as assigned.

What are we looking for?

  • You will be degree qualified in a relevant engineering or similar subject
  • You will have relevant experience working within a similar role, ideally within fracture mechanics assessment of welding
  • You should be proficient with 3D FE modelling
