In 2019 I came and joined a placement year, which was a year out of university to get some experience. I was an HR assistant during this year and I took part in every aspect of HR from recruitment to absence management & aspects of learning as well. I then went back to university to finish my final year. After university I came back to Caterpillar as an HR consultant which is the role I’m in now.
The culture at Caterpillar is fantastic, it’s probably the best out there I’d say. We follow our values in Caterpillar and every site across the world has the same values. One of which is teamwork, a team is exactly what Caterpillar is. We are all one team and we all support each other.
One of the roles I currently have is ‘Diversity Champion’ at the Peterlee site. Diversity itself is a huge initiative at Caterpillar. We are really pushing to achieve more and progress with the diversity journey that we are on – it really is a fantastic culture & environment.
My proudest achievement at Caterpillar has been the opportunity to travel for work. I have been able to visit and support other sites as well as attend various external events. These opportunities have helped both my personal & professional development.
