Position Summary

We are currently recruiting Graduate Engineers to join our Electrical Engineering team as part of our Energy business unit. Working as part of multidiscipline project teams on energy and energy transition, you will be involved with: 

• Front end and detailed design, electrical generation and distribution equipment specification ranging from 220 kV to low voltage and 24V DC 
• Electrical Load List, electrical equipment and cable sizing calculations and power system analysis using ETAP software 
• Schematics for switchgear and motor control 
• Electrical networking, monitoring and SCADA systems 
• Working with design group for electrical layouts and 3-D modelling 
• Complete procurement cycle of electrical equipment from requisitioning, technical bid evaluations, vendor selection, vendor management, vendor facility visits to oversee equipment manufacturing and functional testing etc. 
• Opportunities to get involved in energy transition projects such as Carbon Capture and Sequestration, Green Hydrogen/Ammonia Production and conversion of fossil fuel-based machinery drives to E-drives 

Typical Responsibilities

• Ensure the engineering design provides safety for personnel during construction and operation
• Monitor and communicate progress of assigned tasks within the overall Project schedule 
• Ensure Quality of all tasks and deliverables, applying Company procedures and work processes 
• Monitor the effectiveness of work processes and strive for continuous improvement
• Anticipate problems and propose solutions to complex engineering issues 
• Review vendor and other discipline designs and provide technical input 
• Produce technical specifications, reports and drawings
• Provide input to project proposals and estimates 
• Understand and apply the appropriate level of definition for front-end and detailed engineering phases
• Provide construction support either from home office or site-based assignment
• Be responsible for your own career progression 

The position offers a foundation for a career as a technical specialist or a manager, and opportunities to travel to project sites.

Skills and Qualifications

Successful candidates should be on track for a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering or Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related degree and be legally allowed to work in the UK. Work experience relevant to the area you are applying to, and extra-curricular activities will help your application.
