Gradcracker works here's the proof
"I have really enjoyed my time at G-Research as I feel there has been so much opportunity to learn and develop my skills every day."
University/Degree: Birmingham City University, Computer Science
I found the application process at G-Research to be very quick and easy. I found my emails replied to promptly and interviews very easy to arrange. I accepted the role due to the fact that I am very interested in the industry and I knew I wanted to work in a fast-paced environment.
Typically my role involves monitoring system alerts (drive space, memory and network connections) and being a first point of contact for most infrastructure issues. Alongside these responsibilities we also spend time automating some of the daily monitoring tasks that need completing. Most of the training I received at G-research was on site from other members of the team in seminars. I personally prefer this style of training to offsite training courses because the teaching material is easier to access after the seminar.
The thing I enjoy most about my role is the variety of issues that we receive. Some issues involving networking, others involve exchange and a large amount of issues that can involving scripting and automation. I have really enjoyed my time at G-Research as I feel there has been so much opportunity to learn and develop my skills every day. The employees here have a vast knowledge of IT and being able to work in a friendly environment where everyone is willing to help has helped my technical knowledge grow over my internship. I think the perks such as social events and weekly sporting events have made my year even more enjoyable.
