What are you working on at Keysight?

I'm on an App Development team in the IXIA division, working on the E-Commerce application as a full stack developer. I’m also working on the Identity app that handles the login into various applications, and the different internal applications like the Licensing application.

If you could spend time at another Keysight location, where would you go and why?

As long as my work is needed, I could go anywhere. It would be a great opportunity to spend time at the IXIA division in Calabasas, CA and Keysight headquarters in Santa Rosa, CA

How does your role at Keysight complement your major and vice versa?

I have the ability to access the available resources from IXIA as well as the opportunity to receive the best knowledge transfer from my colleagues and from my mentor, Mihai. One of the best things is the access to different production environments, learning the differences between small projects and applied Agile Methodology, its advantages, meetings and other powerful tools that we have access to. For the technical skills, I am able to develop my front-end and back-end skills – being a full stack developer is all about that: being able to adapt whatever project you have. Given the fact that I didn't have the chance to dive deeper into front-end technologies before, Keysight's projects provided me the opportunity to develop in this direction as well.

What do you like best about working with your team?

Working in my team is a very big opportunity for me because they have a really strong technical background and knowledge, especially from the current project. An important aspect is that they listen to my ideas and they are open to new approaches for each problem or functionality that we implement, which makes me feel understood and gives me satisfaction.

What’s something you’ve learned while at Keysight?

That programming is about sharing. Sharing ideas, articles, tutorials, tools, and so on.

If you could give one piece of advice to future interns, what would it be?

Ask whatever questions you have because your colleagues are really interested in letting you understand everything that's going on.

What has surprised you most about interning at Keysight?

The openness of my teammates to train me, listen to me and give me suitable tasks. The work environment is really rigorous, which gives me the ability to develop my skills like no other place.

How would you compare working at Keysight to working on your degree?

Working at Keysight is better, from a technical point of view because the teammates are really very professional and provide you all the necessary aid. It’s also a more dynamic environment.
