The role

At Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains we offer a 12 month Quality Engineering programme which will tap into your passion and determination to win, giving you a real opportunity to contribute to our success story. As a team we pride ourselves on challenging and developing our Graduates with a scheme which will provide exposure to Formula 1, Formula E and also to the revolutionary Mercedes AMG Road Car “Project One”.

How do the Mercedes F1 Power Unit electronics work?

In part four of the #Halfway2Impossible series, we discover how the team at Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains (HPP) manages the complex interactions and energy flows between the Hybrid ERS (Energy Recovery Systems) and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) at the heart of the Mercedes-Benz F1 Power Unit!

During your Quality Engineering Placement, you will work to understand the challenges we face to refine existing production methods in order to improve quality, capacity or to reduce cost for the 4X World Championship winning team. You will have the opportunity to experience a rotation within our highly dedicated quality inspection team, to develop a broader knowledge of quality principles, all whilst working on real engines components within tight deadlines.

Finally, you will gain Quality Systems and ISO 9001 knowledge, working in a High Performance environment, and you will have the autonomy to actively contribute to your team, suggesting new methods of working or challenging existing methods if other options are available.
