Chemistry and Performance Engineering Placement

About the role

During your placement, you will:

• Work with the Station Chemist, Performance Engineers and other disciplines where needed, to deliver solutions to on-site technical issues.
• Be responsible for sampling and conducting laboratory analysis on the water/steam cycle and take investigative action where necessary.
• Hold responsibilities in various improvement projects at the station, including leadership roles.
• You will attend courses, workshops and on the job training for your personal development.
• You will also have the opportunity to spend time with other disciplines, such as shift work with our operations section, taking on the day-to-day challenges that come with operating a power station.

About you

Ideally, the degree you are studying will be Chemical Engineering or Chemistry. However, if your degree is in a similar Engineering, Maths or Science discipline and you have an interest in the energy industry, we’d love to hear from you!
