A little background on our Maritime Team

Royal HaskoningDHV are at the forefront of innovative maritime planning, design and development and our teams of multi-disciplinary experts have assisted our international clientele to create successful ports and maritime infrastructure worldwide. We have provided expert commercial, technical and operational advice and created master plans across the five continents for a wide-range of port projects.

We are one of the largest and most experienced teams of port planning professionals globally and we are world leaders in the production of port feasibility studies and master plans.

In addition to the above, our Edinburgh Maritime team undertakes design and site work relating to asset management for a number of defence and government clients.

Role Overview 

The role will be to undertake site work and office based activities to collect data and to contribute to the development of engineering solutions. 

General Responsibilities 

  • Preparation of designs for diverse range of structures, from initial concepts through to detailed designs.  
  • Production of design calculations, checking and reviewing of calculations produced by others.
  • Producing sketch drawings and details for CAD/Revit drafting by others, checking and reviewing of these prior to issue. 
  • Preparing Bills of Quantities, Contract Documents and Specifications.
  • Carrying out inspections and surveys.
  • Preparation of reports and presentations.
  • Undertaking structural analyses and reporting.
  • Commercial and technical management of projects, ensuring projects show a profitable result and are completed to an agreed programme.
  • Contribute to the use of Digital technology to improve processes and efficiencies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • MEng in an Engineering discipline 2:1 or above or equivalent level qualification
  • You will have a strong technical ability in analysis and design and a desire to develop this aspect in your career.
  • You will be prepared to travel within the UK and Overseas from time to time.
