FAQs

When are the programmes running and when do I apply?

Kingternship - For summer internships, apply October-December. For autumn internships, apply in February-April and for spring internships, apply in September-November. Our Kingternships are organised by craft (Design, Technology, Art, etc…) and the job description will let you know if a position is available in multiple locations.

Generally these last 2 to 6 months. If you’re Barcelona, London or Berlin bound, they take place in the summer. Stockholm and Malmö happen in the spring or autumn. Usually the thesis or vocational internship will be set by your school or university.

Grad/Trainee program - Trainee applications usually open the autumn before the program and graduate roles normally open in spring. Our Business Performance Trainee Program kicks off in August/early September. It’s an 18-month program where you’ll rotate across three different departments before moving into a role in one of them. Graduate roles normally start around the same time of year.

Can I apply if I’m no longer a student?

Yes! If you’re a recent graduate, then dive on in.

Do I have to be a gamer to apply?

At King some of us live to game, but all of us believe in the power of play. You don’t need to be a gamer, just passionate about what you do and ambitious to achieve it. A love for games can come later. Funnily enough, it always does.

Will I be supported?

Whichever route you take you’ll get a competitive compensation package and if you're relocating, we'll help you with travel and accommodation costs. There are loads of other perks like invites to events, giveaways, game launches and Q&A sessions with our leadership team.

Any tips for my application?

Look at the job descriptions of the roles on offer and make sure you choose one that matches your academic focus and interests. Include all the information or documents we ask for – and submit them in English. And adding a cover letter is a great way to tell us why you’re the right person and why you’re excited about the role!

What will the interviews be like?

For lots of our roles you will need to do a pre-recorded video interview. These help us get to know you and if you’re applying for a tech role give us a chance to see what you can do with coding and other tech tasks. You may then have a video conference or face to face interview with the team and be asked to share a portfolio or show us your skills in a role-specific test.

How should I prepare for an interview?

Show us you really want to work with us. Do your research, dig into our history, and have an opinion on our games. Check out our values too and think about what they mean to you. Understanding all the role responsibilities and how your skills match them is key, and come armed with questions - this is your chance to quiz us! And we care about what you say, not what we see. So wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.

I’ve submitted my application. Now what?

Awesome! Thanks for applying. Hang tight for a few weeks as we’ll be carefully reviewing applications. And don’t forget to connect with us on social channels for the latest updates.
