Our 11-month Digital and Technology Solutions Year In Industry Placement gives you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting Network Rail's digital transformation. Whether you're working with innovative technologies or contributing to business change initiatives, you'll develop valuable technical and professional skills while gaining insight into how technology supports one of Britain's largest organisations.

What you’ll be doing

Take the opportunity to develop your technical and business skills while gaining experience across a range of digital and technology functions.

You'll contribute to meaningful work while building the knowledge and experience needed for a successful career in technology and business services. You'll have the opportunity to:

Supporting digital transformation projects and business change initiatives
Gaining experience across areas such as project management, service management, information systems strategy and application support
Working with innovative technologies and applications that support the railway and wider business

Throughout your placement, you'll gain exposure to a variety of roles and projects, helping you develop a broad understanding of how technology enables Network Rail to operate effectively and deliver improvements across the organisation.

Who you are matters

You'll need to be in your penultimate year at university and be on track to achieve a minimum of a 2:2 degree in any subject.

We're looking for confident individuals with a passion for technology and digital transformation. You should have an eye for detail, enjoy analysing information and be comfortable finding creative solutions to complex problems. Other qualities we're looking for include:

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills

A creative approach to tackling challenges
