Put your science knowledge into practice

Have you recently graduated in a science subject and want to use your knowledge in a practical, hands-on role?

LVS Ascot is looking for an organised and proactive Science Technician to support its busy Science Department. You’ll help teachers deliver practical lessons by preparing equipment, chemicals, and biological materials, and make sure laboratories and preparation areas are safe, organised, and ready for use.

This is a chance to bring your studies to life in a school environment, supporting students as they explore science and develop their own understanding. You’ll work closely with teachers, respond to changing classroom needs and help create a safe, well-equipped environment for learning.

What you’ll be doing

  • Prepare equipment and materials for practical science lessons.
  • Help keep laboratories and preparation areas safe, secure and ready for use.
  • Check equipment and identify issues that need attention.
  • Support teachers and adapt to changing department priorities.
  • Take initiative to help the department run smoothly day to day.

Who we’re looking for

You’ll be organised, reliable, and comfortable taking a practical approach to your work. You’ll use your initiative, pay attention to safety and enjoy helping others.

A recent science degree or related qualification could give you a strong foundation for the role. Experience gained through university laboratory work, projects or other practical settings may also be useful. The key is your interest in science and your willingness to support an active school department.
