About us

We are an innovative group of researchers, scientists, engineers and technicians who share a common goal – to make the built environment better for everyone.

We generate new knowledge through independent research. This is used to create the products, standards and qualifications that help to ensure buildings, homes and communities are safe, efficient, productive, sustainable and enjoyable places to be. Our customers use our expertise and services to deliver their social, environmental and economic goals.

We are seeking highly motivated Graduates from a variety of sectors who want to have a meaningful career, make a difference in the built environment and help us ‘build a better world together’.

The scheme

Our Graduate programme is a two-year scheme, which will provide the successful candidates with the opportunity to deliver projects across a broad range of programmes, growing our business while helping to:

  • Tackle climate change
  • Protect people and property
  • Create more sustainable communities and buildings
  • Develop and assess new materials
  • Be more innovative in the way the built environment works

You will be given the opportunity to work on various projects within BRE Group in a series of six-month rotations. Our business divisions cover specialisms such as; building structures, energy modelling, resource efficiency, sustainability, fire sciences, physical and electronic security, innovation, project management, marketing and business development. This will give you an overview of our business and provide you with strong foundations to launch an exciting and rewarding career. You will each be assigned a Mentor, who will help guide and advise you throughout the programme.

By the end of the two years, this programme will give you the confidence to take your career to the next level in the built environment sector. With a broad knowledge of the various aspects of our business, you will be able to make an informed decision about your chosen speciality, and we would hope to offer you a permanent role within BRE Group in which you can fulfil your longer-term ambitions.
