The opportunity

Complete a three-year accredited programme that enables you to develop into a well-rounded professional engineer.

Centrica: Grads on the sofa

A graduate’s view of what life is like on the Centrica Grad Scheme, as told by the graduates themselves.

What the programme involves

At Centrica, we secure and supply the energy that keeps millions of homes and businesses running. Join us, as a part of our diverse, multi-disciplined engineering team, and you can develop some of the skills, knowledge and experience that will be essential to our future success.

The programme involves doing three one-year placements across Centrica’s upstream, power and industrial businesses. While much of your learning will happen on the job, we will also provide you with structured development and the chance to work towards chartered status.

Who we're looking for

Engineering graduates who have a strong interest in Mechanical Engineering.

You’ll also need:

  • 2:1 Master’s degree in an electrical or control and instrumentation engineering discipline, accredited by the relevant engineering institution.
  • A passionate and creative engineer who can deliver solutions within tight timeframes and implement them safely and successfully.
  • In possession of a full UK driving licence, as you may be required to travel to remote locations.

What you'll be doing

Programme participants can potentially get involved in gas processing, electricity generation or gas storage work. So, there will be plenty to get your teeth into and it will take a lot of hard work and initiative on your part. In return you’ll get to develop career-boosting skills and establish your Engineering career within Centrica.

Please note: we may have to bring the deadline for this programme forward due its popularity, so we encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
