Fascinating projects
From calibrating Lewis Hamilton's steering wheel, to analysing data from Ferrari and Red Bull Racing – we hear about some of the students' favourite projects.

Within the Teams Applied Science division, we apply Formula One talent to customer projects, and it is within this division that we now have opportunities to join as part of our Applied Science Graduate scheme. This is a truly unique opportunity to work with outstanding individuals who bring their passion and determination to work each day.

The role:

  • Supporting senior group members with large mechanical/composite design projects.
  • Assisting with the design and development of innovative components and solutions.
  • Generating 3D models, Assemblies and 2D drawings including defining and documenting manufacturing information.
  • Design and drawing of supporting equipment such as tooling.
  • Ownership of your components from design, through testing, to implementation on the race car.

What we are looking for:

  • A strong degree (2:1 grade or equivalent is desirable) in Mechanical, Automotive, Motorsport Engineering or similar.
  • Knowledge of CATIA V5/3DX an advantage but not essential.
  • An interest in mechanical and composite design, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail while being able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
