Job Description and Responsibilities

The Operations & Infrastructure team utilise technology expertise and system knowledge to keep Visa’s system stable with zero impacts to the business. We also work with cross-functional co-located teams in design & development to enable more productive, greater efficiency and higher resilient environments.

For Visa to deliver on the vision of the best way to pay and be paid for everyone, everywhere, we are looking for Product Reliability Graduate Engineers to join our team and support best-in-class infrastructure and applications services that are secure, scalable, continuously available, and run on software-defined infrastructures.

As a Product Reliability Graduate Engineer, we're looking for graduates who bring fresh ideas from many areas, including distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day.

So what do we expect of you, day to day?

  • We will support you to become proficient with Unix and scripting languages and you will gain exposure to Web/API and Batch services.
  • You will develop a solid understanding of the context of our technology solutions and how they contribute to Visa's business and our clients.
  • You will perform proactive maintenance activities, engage in automation activities and perform root cause analysis and remediation.
  • You will be responsible for supporting and ensuring the stability of Visa’s applications. You will work as a technical expert to drive issue bridges, coordinate/provide fixes and follow production best practices.
  • You will have opportunities to work on latest technologies such as Containers, Hadoop Big Data, Splunk.
  • The role will include participation in on call rotation as assigned by your manager and you will provide extended support if needed and work with offshore teams.

Therefore, our requirements are few:

  • Current university student graduating in 2022, or a recent graduate, ready to start full-time work in the Autumn
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM/technical field
  • Experience building software projects in programming languages like Java, C++, C# or Python
