“My name is Evie and I am originally from Poland. I have been living in the United Kingdom for a while. I graduated from the University of Leicester with a Bachelors in Economics and I am currently finishing my Masters in Supply Chain Management, specialised in sustainability, at the Cardiff University. A peculiar fact about me? I was in the Disney movie Dumbo as an extra!
I had the opportunity to be an Operations Intern in the Fulfilment Centre CWL1, located in Swansea. I spent three months in the Inbound part of the facility and three months in the Change Team, operating all over the Centre.
During my internship I worked on the assessment of the viability of four projects related to sustainability, from the market research to presenting my findings to senior Leadership. I dived deep into the feasibility of each sustainability project, connecting with other Amazonians that were involved in similar projects from all around the world. I also took part in the Sustainability Ambassadors, a group of Amazonians dedicated to the development of projects aiming at making Amazon a company that is striving for a better future. By the end of my internship one of my projects was approved and launched – the implementation of electric vehicles charging points in the car park – it felt so rewarding!
Learn and be curious – What I enjoyed the most during my internship at Amazon were the numerous opportunities to learn from my peers. I connected weekly with other Sustainability Ambassadors from all around Europe, it enabled me to get some useful feedback and ideas to get my projects going!
After graduation I hope to be back at CWL1 as an Area Manager!”
