As a System Evaluation Engineer in our Newbury office, you will perform hands-on testing and test development for all aspects of digital and mixed-signal validation. You will work on complex emulation systems and will contribute to improvements in test methodology within Cirrus Logic. Testing of mixed-signal integrated circuits from a user perspective on an FPGA-based emulation platform
Validation of new digital IP and architectures on an FPGA prior to silicon being produced
Building reliable and reusable tests for complex chip evaluation on an FPGA
Working with the Verification team to off-load system-based and interoperability tests from the simulation environment
Working with the post-silicon Validation team to ensure a smooth flow across pre and post-silicon test phases, maximising both efficiency and coverage
Contributing to the development of a comprehensive set of evaluation tools
Defining and running functional evaluation tests to prove the FPGA builds prior to FPGA distribution.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Degree qualified in Electronics / Engineering (or similar)
Knowledge of evaluation techniques and methodologies, including strong debugging skills
Experience in use of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers, AP / APX etc
A curious and enquiring mind with the drive to follow through on getting answers
A lateral thinking problem solver, keen to engineer innovative and creative solutions
Able to work to tight and variable time scales
Able to work independently as well collaborate well with others
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Knowledge of “c” language and scripting languages Experience in use of tools such as TestStand Good personal skills to be able to interface to diverse groups within the company Experience working in a silicon development environment
