I’m able to work on a wide variety of big and small projects for public and private sector clients. And so far I’ve been exposed to a fair few of them!
I’ve spoken to people I never thought I’d talk to, pushed myself forward and out of my comfort zone. Most importantly I was given all the support I needed to get it done right.
When I was at uni I dreamt about working on High Speed 2 (HS2) and it came true at Atkins.
It’s amazing to have others around me who are sharing the same experience.
As an engineer, solving real life problems is my life! And at Atkins I have the world’s brightest minds more than willing to come alongside me and help me to tackle them.
There’s a real sense of teamwork across the disciplines, and not just at work – we have a lot of fun playing sport and going out together.
The programme has been very good for me, I’ve had a lot of professional help attending Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) sessions to help me on my way to being a Chartered surveyor.
We’re all focused on getting people travelling more safely and sustainably, whilst reducing congestion and emissions. So one of my favourite things about Atkins is how we have people who really care about the environment working on our projects!
The company is always aiming to improve that and lend a hand to anyone in need. Beyond that we just have a really friendly workplace!
enjoyed my interview for the placement scheme, from the extended chat about what the company was like from (my now) colleagues, to the feel of the building, I was quite taken with the company.
At the assessment centre everyone I met was really nice and felt genuine. That’s when I realised I wanted to work for Atkins.
