The Offshore Structures Team at Kent has an industrial placement opportunity, open to mechanical and civil engineering students in their fourth year.
As a member of our Edinburgh team you will be using linear and non-linear finite element assessment methods to assess existing offshore structures for the purposes of brownfield development, asset management, life extension and decommissioning. Within the offshore wind sector, you will have the opportunity to support the winning and delivery of our global portfolio of projects including concept and detailed design.
This will include everything from hand calculations and written reports, to linear and non-linear analysis work. The role will allow you to develop technical and project skills through targeted training and on-the-job experience.
The starting date is early January 2027 and the placement would last at least 6 months. Our office is located at One Lochrin Square in Edinburgh, so a short commute from Haymarket station. Whilst we’d prefer the candidate to mostly work from the office, there is the potential for working from home too.
As Kent, we’re tackling the greatest challenge of our time - to bring our world the energy it needs in the most responsible way ever imagined.
It’s the energy of every member of our team driven by our beliefs that is making this happen. Whatever our skill, our language, or our culture. These beliefs define and direct us every day to be the very best - for ourselves, our clients, our key stakeholders, the communities we operate in and the planet:
We recognise that diversity & inclusion are catalysts for success. We’re heightening awareness on the benefits of people diversity, diversity of experiences and diversity of our perspectives. Creating a culture of inclusivity where all employees feel a sense of belonging.
Our combined energy is fuelled by different nationalities, across 6 continents and 24 countries. Our commitment is to celebrate character – no matter what ethnic background, gender, age, religion, identity, or disability.
