Securing the Future: Innovative Testing Solution for Central Government
Our government client collaborated with a team of private suppliers, including several global organisations, to create an independent and tamper-proof alert system for high-security government environments. This project involved multiple organisations coordinating in a continuously changing landscape. The technologies leveraged included automation, containerisation, simulations, digital twins and data science.
smartDCS IT was engaged to test one supplier’s solution. Our primary task was to ensure the supplier’s claims around functionality and performance under stress conditions, edge-case scenarios, and during regular operations were defensible. This involved designing a test harness and testing digital twins.
The Protocol Verifier’s complexity, multiple contributors and ongoing development required us to adapt continuously and quickly to maintain synchronisation and avoid overlap with stakeholders and version updates. Clear, regular communication was a key factor in success.
We successfully implemented an automated testing harness with bespoke dashboards. Continuous actionable feedback, aligned with internationally recognised coding standards, allowed the client to prioritise critical development areas.
This informed, guided and accelerated their progress along the development roadmap, ensuring the protocol verifier’s functionality and performance alignment with expectations and project objectives.
Adopting Agile methods with regular sprint reviews kept stakeholders informed. We also presented at a partner knowledge sharing event, forging strong relationships.
Initially responsible for a limited testing scope, smartDCS IT earned immense trust to expand our role considerably. We were entrusted with testing all partner solutions and integrating them into the client environment.
Our focused testing approach provided the client with rapid, meaningful insight into system quality. This enabled their team to build with confidence and stay on schedule. Partners appreciated our collaborative ethos.
