About Only The Brave

We are a strategic consultancy who support new medicine launches, driving the change needed to get new treatments to patients faster. We partner Pharma and Biotech companies from early stage decision-making through to product launch strategy and execution

Why “Only The Brave”?

We chose the name Only The Brave because the work that really matters in healthcare is rarely easy. We work in complex therapeutic areas, often where the science is challenging, the patient need is high and the answers are not obvious. Making progress in these spaces takes courage: the courage to ask difficult questions, challenge established thinking and look for better ways forward.

For us, bravery is not about being bold for the sake of it; it is about being willing to take on meaningful problems, have honest conversations and do the work needed to improve care for patients. We are not here to do commoditised work or follow familiar formulas. We are here to support work that demands sharper thinking, deeper understanding and a genuine commitment to making a difference.

It also reflects the clients we choose to work with: organisations tackling complexity, pushing standards forward and pursuing ideas that can make a genuine difference.

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic, curious, and detail-focused Innovation Executive to join our growing team. This role is hybrid in its nature – the ideal candidate will provide medical writing support for our client’s projects – turning complex science into digestible content for healthcare professionals, as well as support the day-to-day running and management of client accounts, ensuring seamless project execution throughout.

For this role, no two days are the same – flexibility, willingness to learn, and time management skills are key. The role requires a blend of scientific writing, project management, client service, and innovative thinking, along with a strong interest in healthcare and scientific communication.

Typically, the role becomes less hybrid in nature as it develops over a 6–12-month period, with individuals specialising down a medical writing or project management pathway.

Key Responsibilities

  • Medical Writing: Produce impactful and concise written content from scientific data, adapting writing style to different audiences
  • Scientific Database Management: Ensure written content is appropriately referenced to supporting publications and uploaded to client review databases
  • Project Coordination: Oversee the execution of medical communication projects, supporting with project planning and logistics
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with designers, other internal team members, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered effectively
  • Timeline & Budget Management: Help ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, managing schedules, resources, and costs effectively
  • Client Management: Serve as a key contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and maintaining strong relationships
  • Strategic Support: Assist in developing project proposals, scopes of work, and strategic plans to meet client objectives

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences
  • Ideally some previous experience with account management or scientific writing, preferably in the medical communications, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry, but not essential
  • A passion for scientific writing and understanding scientific data
  • Evidence of strong organisational and multitasking abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong attention to detail
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK

Location

Our offices are at Holborn, London and we have a hybrid working policy in place.

Culture

Our culture is defined by a rare combination of ambition and compassion.

We are ambitious about the work that we take on, the standards that we set and the difference that we want to make in healthcare. We challenge convention, embrace complexity and push for better answers.

But we do it with care. We listen closely, work generously and never lose sight of the people behind the work; our colleagues, our clients and the patients whom our work is ultimately here to support.

We've signed the Gradcracker feedback pledge.
(This means that we will supply feedback if requested after an interview.)
