GPJ Consulting Engineers is an independent mechanical and electrical (M&E) building services consultancy delivering practical engineering solutions across the UK. We work closely with clients to understand the unique requirements of each project, developing coordinated, compliant and buildable designs that deliver long-term value.
From feasibility studies and detailed design through to construction support and commissioning, we provide clear technical advice and practical engineering expertise across healthcare, commercial, education, residential and public sector projects.
GPJ Consulting Engineers is looking for a Graduate Project Engineer to join our multidisciplinary building-services consultancy.
This is a broad and varied role offering the opportunity to develop experience across mechanical, electrical and public-health engineering rather than being restricted to a single discipline.
We are a small consultancy working predominantly on refurbishment, upgrade and decarbonisation projects within existing buildings. Nearly every project is different and requires practical engineering judgement to understand existing systems, investigate technical issues and develop workable solutions.
This is not a role focused on repeatedly producing standard designs as part of a large design team. You will be involved in solving genuine technical problems and will have the opportunity to see projects through from the initial survey and concept stages to installation, commissioning and completion.
The role would suit someone who wants to be part of a small, supportive consultancy and is willing to learn across all areas of MEP engineering. You will work closely with experienced engineers, clients and contractors, giving you direct exposure to both the technical and project-delivery sides of the industry.
As your knowledge and experience develop, you will be given increasing ownership of projects and packages of work. The aim is for you to become a capable, well-rounded Project Engineer who can investigate problems, develop solutions and successfully deliver projects from beginning to end.
We typically recruit building services, mechanical and electrical engineering students and graduates. We also welcome applicants from related engineering disciplines who have a good understanding of, or particular interest in, building services engineering.
We are looking for someone who is technically curious, organised and keen to understand how buildings and their systems actually work. You should be able to communicate clearly, produce good-quality written work and take ownership of your responsibilities.
