What they enjoy most about AE: In the short time I've been here everyone has been very friendly, I've learnt a lot through rotating through different teams within the business, and I’m looking forward to seeing other parts of the business as I continue my rotations. Additionally, as I’ve rotated through the teams it has also been possible to contribute to live projects and engage with clients. There is a good balance between learning and professional structured development via Engineering Chartership, learning in organised Lunch & Learn’s on topical energy engineering developments and social activities like five-a-side football. All in all as a review of my first 2 months, I’ve had a great time here.
Progression from Graduate to where they are now: I studied mechanical engineering at the University of Nottingham with a placement year in the manufacturing industry. Whilst I enjoyed the experience, I realised I wanted a different field to begin my career in. In my final year, I completed a Master’s project on offshore wind turbines, which sparked my interest in the energy industry and its challenges. This led me to Aquaterra Energy, whose work and graduate roles aligned with my desire to develop novel technology in the energy industry.
