I’m a Graduate Chemist working in the Effluents and Environmental Chemistry team at the Sellafield branch of NNL. Nuclear is a key factor in combating global warming and achieving Net Zero by 2050, NNL will play a huge role in reaching this target and the opportunity to become a part of this is what made me want to work here.
Having just started the graduate scheme in September I am currently doing a combination of data checking and working towards becoming suitably experienced in both the active and non-active laboratories, I will then make a start on some exciting projects aimed at environmental restoration.
As well as progressing within my technical role at NNL there are many interesting things to get involved with outside of the day job. I am involved with the outreach group working towards encouraging young people to enjoy studying STEM.
