As a parent or guardian, you want your child to build a secure, successful future. Choosing what to do after school or college is a big decision, and an apprentice programme can offer a supported route into a long-term, rewarding career.
With an EDF Apprenticeship, your child will earn while they learn, gain hands‑on experience, and develop industry‑leading skills in a growing energy sector. And they won’t be doing it alone - we offer dedicated support every step of the way, from training and mentoring to wellbeing and on‑the‑job guidance.
Most of your child’s time is spent working on impactful projects, solving practical problems, using industry‑standard tools, and contributing to important work across EDF. They also have protected time to focus on their training with a college, university or specialist provider, ensuring they progress towards a recognised qualification.
Our apprenticeships are designed for long‑term growth. Your child can join at the level that matches their current skills and qualifications, and progress step-by-step as their confidence and expertise develop. We offer a variety of entry points and qualification requirements are advertised on each role.
Opportunities are available across the UK. Some apprentices relocate as part of their programme and we'll ensure they receive the guidance and support to settle into new environments. Each apprentice has dedicated, wrap-around support from day one, throughout their training, and as they move into their first role after training.
Apprentices spend the first two weeks of their training at our Outward Bound experience, where they build confidence and make friends. Throughout their training apprentices have access to career managers, mentors, placement managers, buddies, and a robust occupational health and wellbeing team.
