We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Security Consultant to join our rapidly growing security engineering team based in our London or Oxford offices.

The Hoare Lea security engineering team includes chartered engineers and professionally registered security professionals with an incredible wealth of experience across many industry sectors. The role

As a graduate consultant, your day-to-day tasks will vary – we will expose you to all aspects of our work so you can develop a good all-round understanding of security engineering. However, with a primary focus on security threat and risk assessments and development of security strategies, the role will include: 

  • Assisting with client and stakeholder engagement in order to establish project security requirements.
  • Developing threat and risk assessments for projects.
  • Developing security operational requirements that support the development of technical security designs.
  • Assisting the production of security strategy reports.
  • Supporting the technical design teams in understanding and maintaining security strategy requirements throughout the technical design.
  • Attending client meetings and delivering presentations when required.
  • Proactively participating as part of the Hoare Lea security engineering team in developing approaches to project delivery to support continued team growth.

What we are looking for

  • Appropriate degree in security or built environment discipline.
  • An understanding of the RIBA plan of Work.
  • An understanding of security risk management principles.
  • A basic knowledge/awareness of designing out crime using CPTED and SBD principles.
  • Experience in a consultancy role would be preferable.
  • Basic technical understanding of electronic security systems would be preferable.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment with tight deadlines.
  • Able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) before appointment and National Security Vetting at, as a minimum, SC level when in post.
