As I graduated from the University of Manchester in Chemical Engineering, I wanted to secure a graduate scheme for a company that would support me on my journey to becoming a chartered chemical engineer – Costain’s graduate scheme is accredited by IChemE and I have already had direct contact and guidance for the beginning of my journey. Also, having the opportunity to work for a company like Costain was something I really desired, priding themselves on their integrity, I know that the work I am doing is done the right way and for the right reasons.
There is an excellent workplace culture at Costain where all colleagues are treated with the respect that they deserve. Entering the world of engineering as a graduate can be intimidating as there seems to be an overwhelming amount of learning to be done. But since joining Costain, I have felt valued and welcome by all of the teams I have joined, and I always feel encouraged to ask any questions if I am unsure.
