With a global presence in a broad range of sectors, we aim to ensure that our workforce reflects the diverse global communities we serve. Every year we welcome a wide range of new employees, from apprentices to experienced professionals. By joining Renishaw you will be making a difference to the world in which we live, in a global company that encourages innovation and personal achievement.

The Role

The manufacturing industrial placement scheme at Renishaw is suitable for students who are required to undertake a year in industry placement as part of their degree course. Students will be considered from a wide range of STEM subjects, from manufacturing, integrated, and mechanical engineering to physics/scientific and maths.

An industrial placement within the manufacturing organisation at Renishaw offers you the opportunity to understand and interact with cutting edge technology within a precision mechanical, electronic, and optical environment. It will provide the chance to learn more about what a career in a modern manufacturing facility really means and provide an excellent insight into how a manufacturing organisation interacts with the entire business operation.

You will be given relevant projects and responsibilities related to your interests and discipline studied. The entire placement is spent within the Manufacturing Services Division to enable you to get fully integrated into the team, where you will be mentored and supported by the technical staff and our senior managers.

You will be encouraged to participate in the relevant areas; either assembly engineering or manufacturing engineering (both areas having process development, process support, and project engineering functions) with activities ranging from process design, project planning, performances analytics, to hands-on support and problem solving.

You will be given a real role, with associated responsibilities and tasks that directly contribute to tangible business output.

You will have the opportunity to connect with people working in the business and discuss your career ambitions and ideas with employees in similar roles. A successful placement provides an excellent opportunity for you to be considered for a graduate scheme position or a direct entry role in the future.

You must be:

  • Studying at degree level in a STEM subject
  • Have a proven interest in technology
  •  Be enthusiastic, motivated and have an ambitious nature

If you have the right aptitude and appetite you will have the opportunity to make a positive and lasting impact during the placement.

As Renishaw is based in a semi-rural location, it is essential that applicants have their own form of transport or they are willing to relocate to the local area.

Benefits

When you join Renishaw, we're committing to your future career. That's because we believe in developing our people's skills and promoting them internally.
