You can discover and explore what it’s like to be a chemical engineer working in different industries, by accessing our new interactive virtual work experience programme called 'Engineering a sustainable world'. Alongside the programme is a mini project called the sprint where you can try a real-world task.

This IChemE Virtual Work Experience programme is full of engaging content to get you stuck into the various pathways in chemical engineering. Plus, you’ll hear from industry experts, and complete activities and quizzes to improve your knowledge. If you want more, there’s an accompanying Sprint to this Virtual Programme.

The Sprint: an additional mini project

Set by an engineer, the sprint is a real-world task which you can complete at any time. You will be guided through this mini-project by a real engineer working in the energy sector.

  • Problem-solving
  • Mathematical skills
  • Applying existing knowledge in a new setting
  • Interpretation of an engineer’s process flow diagram
  • Downloadable certificate and workbook as a record of the completed task.
