Inclusion, Engagement, and Community

Building a culture of inclusion, engagement, and community. Our mission and values in action.

Empowering Every Voice

Building a culture of inclusion involves creating spaces where every voice matters. The MathWorks design review process encourages open feedback, allowing everyone to contribute ideas and collaboratively improve project outcomes. We prioritise transparency by openly sharing company financials, strategic plans, successes, and challenges. CEO Jack Little and our leadership teams lead by example, actively engaging with staff as well as welcoming and answering questions honestly. This approach ensures people are heard, ideas are considered, and individuals are respected and supported.

Learning and Growing

Our commitment to inclusion and belonging is centred on the genuine growth of our staff. Learning and self-improvement is a pillar of our Core Values. Our training programmes don't just cover business and technical topics, they also include wellness resources and quality of life courses, such as Better Sleep for Parents and Kids and Retirement Planning, to support people through various life stages. Our aim is to ensure everyone has the opportunity to grow and thrive.

Engaging the Community

We are committed to supporting the causes that matter to you. MathWorks offers donations and matching funds for initiatives in the communities where we operate, as well as disaster relief and other impactful programmes. Through our paid volunteer time, staff collaborate with organisations such as Habitat for Humanity and Black Girls Code in the US, Junior Achievement in Ireland, Katalyst India, and Shepreth Wildlife Park in the UK to make a difference. Additionally, MathWorks provides an annual fund for charitable donations. Staff from each office can nominate organisations, and everyone is encouraged to vote for which ones to support. Together, we strive to make a positive impact in our communities.

Nurturing Future Engineers and Scientists

We work to inspire, catalyse, and engage future STEM professionals through a variety of training programs, partnerships with educational institutions and organisations, and community engagement initiatives. We believe that an inclusive future in STEM is essential for innovation and broader society progress. By engaging with our communities and providing support to students throughout their educational journeys, MathWorks aims to bridge the STEM gap and inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.

Inclusivity and Access for Customers with Disabilities

Our Accessibility Programme works to make our products and website accessible to all customers with disabilities. We learn directly from customers through usability testing and meetings with an Accessibility Customer Advisory Board.
