The Engineering Development Group (EDG) at MathWorks is a proven, excellent technical and leadership development programme designed to cultivate the next generation of leaders and innovators within our Software Development organisation. As a member of EDG, you’ll have the flexibility to select your own projects, be mentored by industry experts in areas such as software engineering, quality engineering, user experience, technical writing, and more.

The programme is designed to provide opportunities to support your learning and growth to transition to roles in Development to continue the next step of your career at MathWorks. We offer technical learning opportunities in areas such as full-stack software development (with languages including C++, MATLAB, JavaScript and Go), high-performance computing, cloud computing integration, AI, deep learning & text analytics, physical modelling, embedded systems, text analytics, code generation & verification and wireless communications.

Responsibilities

As part of our Development organisation, you will join a diverse and collaborative team, contributing to impactful software engineering projects and providing technical support to customers. This unique blend of work is designed to foster continuous learning and professional growth. Specifically, you will:

  • Benefit from extensive learning opportunities through training, mentorship and knowledge sharing forums to specialise & develop deeper technical skills.
  • Learn about MathWorks products and user workflows through helping customers troubleshoot and resolve their technical challenges to build a user-centric perspective.
  • Contribute to impactful technical projects with teams across our Development organisation.
  • Grow your leadership skills by demonstrating initiative, leading process improvement projects, coaching and mentoring others.
  • Explore different teams to discover your passion and transition to a role in Development that is perfect for you.

Qualifications

  • Masters/Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science, or another STEM subject
  • Consistent, well-rounded academic track record, including excellent communication and time management skills
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles (for CS degree candidates)
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink is a plus, but not required
