The Role

Our Technical function ensures that our products meet and exceed our customers’ exacting needs, both now and in the future. The roles are varied but the challenge is always the same: to develop and improve every grade of steel, so that it’s ready to meet the challenges of every possible application, from electrical use to aerospace and beyond. Technical excellence is at the heart of everything we do, underpinning areas including quality assurance, laboratory management, non-destructive testing, metallurgical investigations and supply chain.

Our Technical teams are central to everything we do, project managing and problem-solving in support of our overarching business objectives. Highly skilled, imaginative and constantly

learning, they help us to develop and improve the steel making process and enhance our capability to produce high value, high quality steel. From interpreting customer and end user

requirements to chemical and metallurgical analysis and new product development, the variety of experiences here is unlike any other company. Whatever your interest, there will be the scope to develop here.

The Candidate

You must have at least a 2:1 Degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemistry, and Physics.

Driven, passionate and tenacious, your strong sense of personal accountability is bolstered by your eye for the bigger picture. Outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to inspire trust and build engagement are also essential.
