Join Bouygues Travaux Publics UK and play a key role in supporting the financial performance of some of the UK's largest and most complex infrastructure projects. As a Graduate Cost Controller, you will join our central Cost Control team based in London, working alongside experienced finance and project controls professionals while gaining exposure to major programmes including Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C, Lower Thames Crossing and HS2. This is an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in project cost management, financial reporting and project controls within a leading international construction and civil engineering business. This role will be offered as part of our graduate intake for September 2026.

Our Graduate Programme

As a Graduate Cost Controller, you will join our structured two-year Graduate Development Programme. Through a combination of technical training, professional development and practical experience, you will build the foundations of a successful career in Cost Control and Project Controls. You will work with experienced professionals across multiple projects and business functions, gaining a broad understanding of how financial performance is managed across major infrastructure programmes.

What You'll Need

  • Degree (minimum 2:1) in Finance/Numerical/Civil Engineering/Construction related degree
  • Genuine interest in the construction industry
  • Strong numerical and analytical skill
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

The Role

Working within the central Cost Control function, you will support cost management activities across a portfolio of major projects and corporate functions. You will help provide financial visibility, cost analysis and reporting that supports informed decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation of monthly cost reports, forecasts and performance dashboards
  • Assist with the monitoring of project costs and commitments against approved budgets
  • Analyse cost data and investigate variances, trends, risks and opportunities
  • Support cost reporting activities across major projects including HPC, SZC, Lower Thames Crossing and HS2
  • Work closely with project and finance teams to collect, validate and analyse financial information
  • Assist with intercompany recharges, invoicing processes and cost centre allocations
  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of cost control systems and reporting tools
  • Contribute to project reviews, management reporting packs and business performance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, governance requirements and financial controls
