What Will You Be Doing?

You’ll join our Digital Industries Division based at Manchester, with an expectation of attending the office 2–3 days per week. We encourage regular collaboration on-site to help you connect and learn from industry leaders, with flexible hybrid options to suit your lifestyle.

In this role, you will:

  • Work with colleagues to solve everyday tech problems and keeping systems running smoothly.
  • Be a friendly face for IT in the business by helping others understand and use technology confidently.
  • Get involved in exciting projects using programming, data, and artificial intelligence to improve how we work and reach our goals.
  • Run workshops and presentations that encourage teamwork and new ideas.
  • Support the sales team by improving how customer enquiries are shared across the business, using automation and artificial intelligence.
  • Help new starters get set up with their technology, access to company systems, and everything they need to get off to a great start.
  • Explore new tools and equipment that could help us work smarter.
  • Research what is happening in our industry to help shape future plans.

What We’re Looking For

We focus on potential, curiosity, and your drive to learn rather than past experience.

This opportunity is open to undergraduate students looking to complete a one-year industrial placement as part of their degree.

  • Currently working towards a degree in an Information Technology or related discipline such as IT with Business, Computing, Computer Science or Cyber Security.
  • You think logically, are willing to self-learn, and take a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • You take pride in working safely and responsibly, always doing the right thing.
  • You are excited to grow, develop, and be a driving force for positive change.
  • You enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions.
  • You're able to use AI confidently and selectively, knowing when and how it adds value.
  • Experience within a customer-facing role is desired but not essential.

What's In It For You?

Continuous Growth:

  • A dedicated induction week away to build your national peer network.
  • Structured rotations, continuous mentoring, and formal professional development.
  • A celebration at our annual GB&I Recognition Awards upon programme graduation.

Flexibility & Wellbeing:

  • 26 days' paid holiday + 5 dedicated paid volunteering days.
  • Subsidised gym memberships and wellbeing support.
  • Discounts on everyday retail, travel, and lifestyle spending.

Purpose-Driven Work:

  • Direct involvement in UK sustainability and community initiatives.
  • Contributing to meaningful projects that use technology and innovation to make a positive real-world impact.

Our Fair & Transparent Process: No CV Bias

We want everyone to have an equal chance to shine. While you’ll submit your CV, our hiring teams will not view your CV until the final stage of assessment. We evaluate your strengths, mindset, and problem-solving abilities, not just your background.

Belonging Transforms

We believe belonging empowers people to thrive and innovate. Siemens is dedicated to creating an inclusive workplace where diverse minds drive progress. If you need any adjustments or support during the application or assessment process, please let our recruitment team know. We are here to support you at every stage.
