HR Intern - People & Skills (12 Months)

Business, Project Management, Analytics, Data.

We review applications on an ongoing basis and may close roles early due to high demand.

Create Real Impact from Day One

At Siemens, we create technology that transforms the everyday. Whether you're passionate about tech, engineering, sustainability, or business strategy, you won’t just be watching from the sidelines — you’ll contribute to real-world projects that shape industries and communities across the UK.

What placement students own
Answering a student's question, Mary explains what a placement student owns: it varies by team, from getting stuck into day-to-day work to defined projects, and anyone without enough to do should ask for more and bring their own project ideas.

What Will You Be Doing?

You’ll join our People and Organisation team based at Botanica Ditton Park, Slough, with an expectation of attending the office 2–3 days per week. You will also have the opportunity to visit other Siemens sites including Manchester, Newcastle and our Congleton factory.

We encourage regular collaboration on-site to help you connect and learn from industry leaders, with flexible hybrid options to suit your lifestyle. As part of a Global Professional Education team, you will contribute to projects both in the UK and Internationally.

In this role, you will:

  • Curate learning content and managing our internal learning offerings through platforms such as SharePoint and our learning management system
  • Build dashboards and visual reports that track participation and progress against learning goals and sharing the insights to colleagues and leaders
  • Coordinate and supporting learning sessions and communities, including scheduling, hosting and editing recordings and resources afterwards
  • Work with other interns and early careers colleagues from across the business on a shared project, and presenting your recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Collaborate with People and Organisation colleagues on projects including our Early Careers, Digital/AI and Leaders Programmes and wider operational activities
  • Design activities that help accelerate digital, AI and sustainability skills across the organisation.
  • Gather data and feedback to understand the impact of learning activities and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Share success stories that showcase the impact of our learning, digital and sustainability initiatives.
  • Shape our learning and growth strategy by sharing your ideas, perspectives and learnings to help influence how we develop our people.

What We’re Looking For

We focus on potential, curiosity, and your drive to learn rather than past experience.

This opportunity is open to undergraduate students looking to complete a one-year industrial placement as part of their degree.

  • Currently working towards a degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or a relevant business-related subject.
  • Passionate about making a difference, curious, loves to learn, analytical, and strong in managing projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Creative thinker who challenges the way we do things and contributes new ideas.
  • Enthusiastic about working collaboratively and equally working independently on projects.
  • Team player willing to take on various tasks, with the confidence to speak up, ask questions, and liaise with people at all levels within Siemens.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and keen to experiment and use Generative AI

What's In It For You?

Continuous Growth:

  • A dedicated induction week away to build your national peer network.
  • Structured rotations, continuous mentoring, and formal professional development.
  • A celebration at our annual GB&I Recognition Awards upon programme graduation.

Flexibility & Wellbeing:

  • 26 days' paid holiday + 5 dedicated paid volunteering days.

  • Direct involvement in UK sustainability and community initiatives.
  • Contributing to meaningful projects that use technology and innovation to make a positive real-world impact.

Our Fair & Transparent Process: No CV Bias

We want everyone to have an equal chance to shine. While you’ll submit your CV, our hiring teams will not view your CV until the final stage of assessment. We evaluate your strengths, mindset, and problem-solving abilities, not just your background.

Belonging Transforms

We believe belonging empowers people to thrive and innovate. Siemens is dedicated to creating an inclusive workplace where diverse minds drive progress. If you need any adjustments or support during the application or assessment process, please let our recruitment team know. We are here to support you at every stage.
