As a CNC Programmer, you’ll play a key role in supporting a wide range of precision manufacturing processes within a small-batch environment, where quality, reliability and customer focus are essential. You’ll help drive continuous improvement in design for manufacture and production processes, making the best use of machine capability around the clock to support the delivery of Martin-Baker’s life-saving products.

The Opportunity

As a CNC Programmer, you’ll support both established and new products by helping to shape modern, efficient manufacturing processes in a precision engineering environment. You’ll apply new technologies and continuous improvement techniques to optimise CNC programming, tooling, unmanned running, swarf management and inspection processes, ensuring manufacturing activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with business objectives.

This role is based onsite working from Chalgrove.

What You’ll Do

• Support manufacturing activities on old and new products
• Support a strategy for Lean Design for Manufacture
• Participate in the selection of new CNC machines/tooling requirements ensuring MBA maintains technical expertise to mitigate any future risk.
• Support installations and commissioning of plant to ensure minimal business risk.
• Provide advice and support on engineering/technical and other matters to ensure the sharing of knowledge and experience is continuous.
• Follow best working practices for CNC programming, prove out, update and amendment of parts.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in computer programming to at least ‘subroutine’ level gained ideally within a CNC programming/metal machining environment. or relevant degree
• Thorough experience of CAD/CAM/ NC programming of multi axis turning and milling centres Design for manufacture. NC programming, milling and turning, DNC & tool management
• Solid experience of modern manufacturing techniques ie Lean manufacturing.
• Proficient in NX CAD/CAM & Vericut Software
• Thorough CAD ability e.g. for design and review of a layout from a production perspective
• Share and demonstrate the Martin-Baker values.
