Job Description
As full-stack developer in the Tools Team at SY-EPC-CCS, you'll become the main responsible for a set of crucial web applications used by converter experts to ensure smooth operation of the power converters at CERN. You'll be working closely with other team members, applying an agile work approach and work on different products in sprints (Scrum).
Your responsibilities:
Working on front-ends in JavaScript (Vue3.js).
Working on back-ends in Python (FastAPI).
Working on databases in SQL (PostgreSQL/Oracle).
Gathering and iterating over requirements and features with our users and stakeholders (Power Converter Experts).
Providing application support to converter experts/users (debugging, fixing, etc.).
Collaborating closely in a team of developers who are working on the full stack of web applications, using the Scrum framework.
Own a subset of our full-stack web applications and lead sprints on them.
Your profile
Experience with UI/UX design and web front-end development.
Experience with web back-end (REST API) design and development.
Experience with database design and development.
Experience with identifying user requirements.
Knowledge of or experience with DevOps (CI/CD, Docker, Compose, Kubernetes) would be an advantage.
Skills:
JavaScript/TypeScript (Vue3.js, Pinia, Vite).
Python (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, asyncio).
SQL (PostgreSQL, Oracle).
Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.
Eligibility criteria:
You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Computer Science (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
This position involves:
Stand-by duty, when required by the needs of the Organisation.

A monthly stipend between 5,266 - 5,793 Swiss Francs per month (tax free) depending on your degree.
30 days of paid leave per year plus 2 weeks' annual closure.
