The Marie-Curie Fellowship Programme is a prestigious opportunity for Early Stage Researchers aspiring to advance their scientific careers. With a focus on international collaboration, this programme connects researchers across Europe to work on high-impact projects in cutting-edge fields.
As a fellow, you will gain hands-on experience in state-of-the-art research environments while benefiting from expert guidance and mentorship. What we offer
- A monthly stipend between 7,004 - 7,425 Swiss Francs per month (tax-free) depending on your degree.
- Coverage by CERN’s comprehensive health insurance scheme (for yourself, your partner and children) and contribution to CERN Pension Fund.
- Depending on your individual circumstances: an installation grant, family, child and infant allowances as well as travel expenses to Geneva upon joining CERN.
- 30 days of paid leave per year plus 2 weeks during annual closure of CERN.
- On-the-job and formal training including language classes.
- A contract duration for the corresponding duration of the individual (typically 2 years).

Eligibility Criteria
- Specific requirement: By the application deadline, you should not have resided or carried out your main activity in the local area near CERN for more than 12 months in the previous three years.
- Educational background: For Doctoral Network Researchers (DN): You have a maximum of 4 years of professional experience since graduation and you are qualified to embark on a PhD. You can’t hold a PhD. For Postdoctoral Fellows (PF): You have a PhD and up to 8 years of professional experience since graduation.
- Language skills: You have a good knowledge of English or French.

Recruitment process for this programme

Add a copy of your most recent (or highest) qualification + academic transcripts + letter(s) of recommendation + contact details of academic or professional references + a brief research statement summarising what you would like to achieve with this programme.
- 2. Application review, interview and selection: Your application will be reviewed and you may be invited to take part in a online interview with the hiring manager(s) to discuss your application, CERN and the position, and for you both to determine if it could be a good fit.
- 3. Offer and onboarding: If you are successful, you will receive a job offer. Once you accept, your onboarding journey begins! Depending on the type of project, you may need to complete a “career development plan” form for the European Commission.
