Programme overview

The CERN Short-Term Internship Programme is designed to provide students with an immersive experience in one of the world’s leading scientific institutions. Over 1 to 6 months, you’ll be part of a team working on real-world projects in fields like applied physics, engineering, computing, or administration. This is your chance to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom to groundbreaking work that has a global impact.

What we offer

Eligibility Criteria
  • Nationality: You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
  • Educational Background and Student Status: You are pursuing a technical/administrative diploma, bachelor’s, or master’s degree. You remain enrolled as a full-time student during your studentship.
  • Age: You are at least 18 years of age.
  • Language Skills: You have a good working knowledge of English or French.
Recruitment process for this programme
  • 1. Submit application: Apply with your CV (in English or French) and complete the online application before the deadline.
  • 2. Application review, interview and selection: Your application will be reviewed and you may be invited to take part in an online interview with the hiring manager(s) to discuss your application, CERN and the position, and for you both to determine if it could be a good fit.
  • 3. Offer and onboarding: If you are successful, you will receive a job offer. Once you accept, your onboarding journey begins!
