Because your technical training will involve formal training courses, learning on the job from experienced colleagues, individual research, reading round the subject and putting it all into practice on real projects. You’ll be embracing new technologies and keeping your knowledge up to date.
In time, you’ll have the chance to experience the commercial side — manage your own projects, lead bid teams and contribute to our business development.
Throughout, you’ll have regular performance reviews so that you know where you’re doing well and what you need to focus on.
Look forward to a mentor to guide you from Induction right through to Professional Development and beyond, and the chance to spend time in other technical groups and broaden what you know. And once you reach chartered status, a range of career paths will be open to you.
Ideally, you’ll be in the second year of a four-year course or third year of a five-year course, and you’ll be on target to achieve a good engineering-based degree.
