I was attracted to Taylor Wessing due to its sector focus. I greatly enjoyed trust law at university and found the firm's Private Wealth practice particularly interesting as I knew it would provide opportunities to get involved in trusts work in a practical setting. I was also keen to work in a firm with a technology focus as I was interested in areas where the law is playing catch-up. Taylor Wessing is one of the only firms that is truly market-leading in both these areas, and so it was a perfect fit for me to explore these interests.
My first seat was in the Private Client team and I absolutely loved it. I received a lot of hands-on experience with trust structures, often involving complicated international elements, along with other tricky advisory pieces considering tax and other areas. The team undertakes an incredibly broad range of work, meaning that every day brings its own unique challenges and keeps you on your toes!
I also found the team took a real interest in my personal development. Together, these factors helped me to determine that I wanted to join the team, and I am delighted to be an NQ in the team from September.
Before joining I'd heard Taylor Wessing had an excellent collegiate culture, and my experience has borne that out. I've found my colleagues to be welcoming and generous with their time in explaining matters to me.
