What is NATS?

NATS is the UK’s leading Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP). Every year we handle 2.5 million flights and keep 300 million passengers safe whilst in UK airspace. We provide air traffic management (ATM) services to 15 airports in the UK as well as providing these services around the world spanning Europe, Middle East, Asia and North America.

What we do
We do everything we can to keep NATS running safely

We’re shaping the future of ATM through our focus on ‘advancing aviation and keeping the skies safe’ and believe that the size and diversity of our business makes us an exciting choice for undergraduates considering their future careers.

What will the Regulatory Compliance Industrial Placement involve?

This one-year placement is available to undergraduate students who are keen to gain industry experience during their penultimate year of university. It is based at our Head Office in Whiteley, Hampshire. We have adopted agile working, which will give you the opportunity and flexibility, where possible, to work both from our modern office facilities and from home.

We are looking for individuals who share our passion for advancing aviation and keeping the skies safe.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience of regulatory compliance within NATS by working across a wide range of activities with teams across the business. You will support compliance management, including interpreting numerical and written information, providing clear guidance to colleagues across the business, and gaining insight into how we interact with stakeholders, both internally and at the regulators.

Why choose NATS?

You’ll be working at the heart of our organisation alongside other undergraduate students, apprentices, graduates and experienced professionals. You’ll gain valuable insight into our business while making a tangible contribution to our success.

Your placement experience will be unique to you, allowing you to build on the knowledge you have already gained at university. We are committed to your personal and professional development and, with the support of our skilled colleagues, will help you achieve your goals.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for driven, proactive and committed individuals who are ready to embrace the challenging targets we’ve set ourselves over the next few years. One thing is clear: we can only achieve these targets through our people. We’ll be leading the way technically, operationally, commercially and politically, and you can help us shape the future.,

We are looking for individuals who enjoy working across a range of activities in a dynamic and varied team. You should have strong attention to detail, be comfortable interpreting numerical and written information, and have an interest in supporting the wider business with guidance across a range of topics.

You’ll need to be actively studying towards a relevant degree and have an interest in regulatory compliance.

To be eligible to apply, you must have indefinite, unrestricted right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we cannot consider candidates whose right to work is time-limited or dependent on visa sponsorship.

You must be able to obtain Security Clearance (SC Level).
